President Museveni has advised that the Kabaka should steer clear of politics. Could he explain why he asked the Kabaka to speak politics to Baganda during the rebel bush war of 1981-1985?

When I hear this advice coming from Museveni and his friends, my first instinct is that malice is the driver. When they go so far as legislating this in law, I am truly troubled.

The issue whether the Kabaka or any other traditional leader should engage in partisan politics is a matter local to the people the traditional head leads.

Don't get me wrong, I am at one with the contention that the Kabaka should be above partisan politics - the emphasis is on the word 'partisan'. How can one possible be apolitical when one is a leader of people? Correct me if I am wrong but it has to be that Museveni will frustrate anyone who has the following of the masses.

If any one can explain to me why the Kabaka should be out of politics as opposed to partisan politics, I would like to hear from you.
