Sorry for double posting I was bad on time I did not edit properly. What I was saying is thIS - It is not the first time we are being attacked lucky the sources of these attacks can readily be identified.
People can deliberately gain access to your Internet Protocol address and then get hold of your entire computer disk. They can therefore plant phone-stealing software, redirect your browser i.e IE, netscae etc., extract files and other information suitable to them. Some of these people are working for given organisations and firms in Uganda This might be done unknowingly of the implication of the law or just out of curiosity but most are intended are therefore deliberate. Much that can be done do the following to monitor activities on your computer 1. Shut down your computer whenever you are not using it. In fact get two or three computer - one just for discussion list - JUST FOR THAT PURPOSE. ALWAYS HAVE BACKUP OF ALL FILES. 2. When your computer start making funny noises without you doing anything with it, then it might be being accessed by a remote computer. 3. Install a firewall - www.sygate.com - MAKE SURE YOU ALSO INSTALL A CPU CONTROLLER - THE MONITOR COMPUTER ACTIVITIES. 4. Make sure that all ports on your computer are closed to in/output data. 5. Open your firewall to monitor activities on your computer processing unit 6. Install a spy ware tool (it is free http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ ) and make sure that everyday at given intervals it cleans your computer 7. Dont use any sort of chat room software without reading its configuration and to how it communicates with OTHER MACHINES. 8. Install windows and Internet cleaner- software make sure that it can delete index.dat file it is the same file even with linux 9. Get a Port switch and Ethernet and create your own network that way you can change, forge the Mac address to hide your computer network. 10. Don\'t open attached files or images. Good virus software can deal with this problem by automatically deleting dangerous codes but dont trust anything. 11. Notify your server administrator of the threats and the damage it can cause to their server. 12. THE ABOVE CAN BE DONE BY SHOWING THE HEADERS OF MALICIOUS CODES - THEY CAN TRACK DOWN THE SOURCE OF THE CODES AND INTRUSION THEMSELVES -AN SUBSEQUENT LEGAL REPERCUSSIONS. bwanika Bwanika ________ http://www.idr.co.ug --> for your consultancy needs http://p201.ezboard.com/fugandamanufacturersassociationfrm1 ----------------------------------------------------------- Spela poker mot verkliga mnniskor ver Internet. ver 40 000 spelare online http://www.multipoker.com _______________________________________________ Ugandanet mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/ugandanet % UGANDANET is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/
