KAMPALA - The National Resistance Movement (NRM) will dismiss members who reject the partys chosen candidates for any elective post.

The Presidential Assistant on Political Affairs, Mr Moses Byaruhanga, said this while addressing residents of Kisenyi II Parish, Kampala Central, about the governments White Paper on Monday.

The consultative rally was organised by Kampala Central MP, Capt. Francis Babu. In NRM-O, under multipartyism, we shall have only one candidate for all electoral seats, and whoever will oppose our stand will be dismissed, Byaruhanga said.

You dont come to make us lose any of our leadership seats and we leave you. We have been a bit loose, but we are starting to operate by consensus and all members who dont support our decisions and those who fight us from within will be told to go, he added.

Early this month, the NRM interim Executive Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Bidandi Ssali, resigned his post saying the members were obsessed with achieving a third term for President Yoweri Museveni in 2006, instead of consolidating the party.

Byaruhanga said he would mobilise NRM supporters to unseat the current leadership in Kampala district including the City Mayor, Mr Ssebaana Kizito.

He alleged they have been misusing Shs2 billion from the central government.
