A FIVE-HOUR downpour left three people dead in Kampala on Thursday.
The tragic incidents occurred in the suburbs of Kawempe, Rubaga and in
Namugongo.
Police said Noah Kiwanuka, who was on his way back home at 6:30pm, died after
he was swept away by floods in Kyaliwajala, Namugongo.
Kampala Police chief Oyo Nyeko said Charles Ddamulira of Kawempe B died after a
room in which he kept his welding equipment collapsed on him.
We took dad to Mulago Hospital, from where he died, said Kyesswa Ddamulira,
one of the deceaseds eight children.
Nyeko said the rain forced down an electric pole in Kawala, Rubaga, where an
electrician was electrocuted.
The rain also left some houses roofless and brought down trees, which blocked
some roads.
