CORRIDORS OF POWER

Lost in the crowd
Before the merger between Reform Agenda and Parliamentary Advocacy Forum(PAFO) that created the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Beti Kamya and Salaamu Musumba were as common in the news as load shedding. But ever since the merger, the two are missing in action. Could it be that they are lost in the crowd that was created out of the merger? Or is it because FDC is yet to give them official positions that they are keeping a low profile?

Spiritual vengeance

City FM located at Wampewo on
Gayaza Road is unofficially a M ovement radio. This is because it trumpets the Movement ideology louder than it does for other political groups. The radio is located in the home of Kyadondo north MP, Michael Ssebalu. The radio had the input of Kalangala Action Plan chief Maj. Roland Kakooza Mutale. He lives a kilometre away. Last week, however, demons disguising themselves as winds crashed the radio mast suddenly putting it off air. As if that was not enough, the mast fell on Ssebalus car seriously damaging it. Later residents were heard saying that the wind was sent by the opposition.

Shouting to victory
From the new practice of live telecast of debate in the Parliament, Ugandans have been puzzled by the manner in which voting is carried out in Parliament. Most of the bills are turned into acts through shouting of Ayes for supporters and Nays for critics. The side with the highest shouts takes the day. How can they decide our future by just shouting? As far as I see, one needs to feed well in order to get the strength to effectively vote in the Parliament, one man watching the live coverage commented. The opposition should feed well, every time they are going to Parliament if they want to stand a chance of winning against the well-fed Movement.

DP theatrics
Smelly frogs and rats have refused to stop running out of the DP bag. The latest is that an unknown hot air group of people with the help of the Attorney General is in the final stages of registering the party against the official part resolution. According to the party spokesman, Jude Mbabali, the group are not yet identified, but he warned the hot air group that they cannot go ahead with the registration or else the real group will teach them a lesson in the courts of law.
