A 27-year-old woman and his son were on Sunday detained at Arua Military Barracks for allegedly having links to the People's Redemption Army (PRA) rebel group.

Ms Rukia Alezuyo, with a two-year-old son, Babikir Boyi and Mr Rasul Akule were arrested from Ludara sub-county in Koboko.

They were paraded before journalists at the 409 UPDF brigade headquarters on Monday.

Alezuyo is a wife to hunted PRA suspected architect, Mr Mazzim Otugo from whose home the army dug out several arms on Sunday.

She said her husband, disappeared last Friday. He was former combatant of the defunct West Nile Bank Front (WNBF) rebel group, led by Col. Juma Oris.

Rukia told pressmen that they slept on empty stomachs at the military barracks and were just given porridge on Monday morning.

The West Nile-based Army Publicist, Lt. Anech Mubangizi, said they had already transferred the suspects to police.

He displayed 26 rusty sub machine guns, seven tortoise grenades, seven fuses of anti-personal land mines, a pistol, 35 magazines and 24 loose ammunitions. He said they were captured in Koboko during the sunday raid.

Mubangizi said the arms were not from UPDF's armory as some local politicians claim.
