Dear The Fugee,
In your statement below you also indeed express a view held by many of us.
From the very beginning, Museveni never really hid his agenda, regardless of those who now tell you that "the man changed".
We have posed to former incessant promoters of the NRM outfit who are now turning bitterest critics, the question:
Who really changed; Is it Museveni or them? It is a question they have not answered!!
(I hope they have changed, otherwise nobody has changed).
Some of them conveniently forget what they used to tell one on one: "Man, leka obusajja babukonkone!!"
For all of us to be able to move forward it is important to identify the exact point at which we started going off the rails.
In this regard I want to highly commend and express my admiration for Compatriot Dr Kizza-Besigye who, among other things, has expressed regret for his participation in Luwero. It is a rare _expression_ of maturity.
But we also need a re-arrangement of our corridors of power, to thwart the designs by local or foreign adventurers.
Some Ugandans have suggested a federalist arrangement.
May be we could start from that as an empty vessel and let all interest groups include into the definition of federo what is most dear to them.
Otherwise, the old ways of laying bare our fate at the doors of State House for any to grab is dangerous, reckless and naive, regardless of who comes to power or which party for that matter.
The blood of all those Africans and dear ones demands we rise to the occasion with an answer.

"It is my own humble view that to try and further the struggle for democracy on the false premise that the NRM/Movement started on the right footing and somehow got misled by its leader will not help the suffering people of Uganda but is some ways furthers Museveni's personal ambitions since he now appears to be the one who is consistent in as far as the Objectives of the NRM are concerned and puts NRM/Movement 'defectors' in a weaker position of possibly being naively compliant for a time and currently grasping to hold on to a notion that never really existed in the substance of the NRM/Movement but only in the figment of its more idealistically minded members and for propaganda purposes."
