Over 300 people will be evicted from Rwamwanja, an area formerly occupied by the Rwandese Refugees.
Government officials issued eviction directives to the RDC, Mr John Kigyagi, to have evictions effected by May 2005.

The LC5 Chairman Kabarole, Mr Kayonga, while addressing the council recently, said the Woman MP for Kamwenge, Ms Ida Mehangye, had called those who had acquired land there thieves during her consultative meetings on the White Paper at Nkoma sub-county.
"We are also told that the third Deputy Prime Minister, Lt. Gen. Moses Ali gave a military order to survey the land and the RDC gave a six-month notice of eviction to Residents," Kayonga said while addressing the council.

"There was never an indication that this land although formerly occupied by refugees was an official gazetted refugee settlement," Kayonga said
This is our land and we have invested heavily in developing it," he added.
