Just keeping tabs on our confused sister, who designated the famous "New Breed of African Leaders"...and on her watch Africa caught on fire, while she fiddled and drew her check. Here is her short biography. Susan E. Rice Senior Fellow Brookings Institution Dr. Rice joined the Board of Directors for Internews Network in 2002. She has a distinguished career in both the public and private sector and brings a wealth of foreign policy experience to Internews. Dr. Rice is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution jointly affiliated with the Foreign Policy and Governance Studies programs. Her projects at Brookings involve transnational security threats, the security implications of globalization, and corporate social responsibility investments. She is also an independent consultant and speaker. Under President Clinton, Dr. Rice served as Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs. Prior to that, she served on the National Security Council staff at the White House as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs, and earlier was Director for International Organizations and Peacekeeping at the NSC. Her private sector experience includes work as a management consultant at McKinsey and Company in Toronto and serving as Managing Director and Principal of Intellibridge International in Washington, D.C., an internet-based information and analytical firm. Dr. Rice was the co-recipient of the White House's 2000 Samuel Nelson Drew Memorial Award for distinguished contributions to the formation of peaceful, cooperative relationships between states. Susan E. Rice also brings impressive scholarly and practical accomplishments to Internews. A Rhodes Scholar, Dr. Rice was awarded the Chatham House-British International Studies Association Prize for the most distinguished doctoral dissertation in the United Kingdom in the field of International Relations.
