This "yellow of line Middle of the road politics" conducted the British in Uganda, will not serve British interest. The Brits are advised to take a position now.
You are either with Museveni against the people of Uganda or you are with Ugandans and against Military dictatorship in what ever form or shape.
Talking like a double mouth/headed snake is simple wasting the time of the people of Uganda.

KAMPALA - The United Kingdom, like other development partners, has no position on Ugandas presidential term limits. It is however concerned that in the process of taking decisions on this issue and other aspects of political transition, legitimacy should be the catch word - both on the local and international scene. In a statement issued Friday by High Commissioner Adam Wood, he said they would monitor Ugandas political transition to ensure that there are rules for multi party competition. He said Ugandas continued stability would depend on having a legitimate process of political and constitutional change. He said proof of UKs position was the pegging of its budgetary support to reforms - as detailed in the Poverty Eradication Action Plan (PEAP), including macro-economic management and governance. Britain remains keen to support Ugandas continued development and progress in reducing poverty. The High Commissioner signed a new budget support arrangement this month for a grant of up to 145 million over the next 3-years to support implementation of the Poverty PEAP, he said. Mr Wood also called for separation of the organs of state from the Movement in law and practice. |
