EIGHT pastoralists were on Saturday killed and over 100 cows burnt in a helicopter raid against Pokot suspected to have been terrorising Kapchorwa district.
Pokot MP Micah Lolem yesterday said the army hit 'innocent' Uganda Pokot who were grazing their cattle at Losidok parish, Kariita sub-county. He said more than 500 head of cattle were injured.

The commanding officer of the UPDF 3rd division, Col. Silver Kayemba, however said they targeted the Pokot thieves who had earlier killed three UPDF soldiers and terrorised the residents of Ngenge plains in Kapchorwa district. Lok adoko tek!!
He said the Pokot often invited their Kenyan kinsmen to raid and commit acts of lawlessness against the people of Kapchorwa.
"We have been patient with the Pokot. However, we shall catch up with them," Kayemba said.

President Museveni, while on tour of the district, directed the army to deal with the Pokot. Lok dong odoko Tek!!!
Lolem said the army attacked long after the Kenyans had returned home.
