The bitter fact, which Arondo fails to admit, is that the UPDF does not and probably will never know the exact number of the so called " LRA rebel force." The Arondo , at best merely guess , or rather speculate ,how many so called "LRA rebels" . The "rebels" (UPDF) are sleeping with ARONDO in the some barracks or even sharing the some officers mess with him. If indeed there are only 300 rebels as Arondo , wants as to believe, then it implies that he is one of the most incompetent Army commader the wolrd has ever known , who with over 60,000 troops at his disposal , cannot defeat a mere rebel force of 300 people!!!

THE LRA rebels have reduced from 3,000 fighters in 2002 to about 300 who are scattered in small groups, the army commander, Lt. Gen. Aronda Nyakairima, has said.
"From about 3,000 fighters during the operation iron fist which I commanded in southern Sudan in 2002, the LRA rebels are now about 300. It is now not a dog but a tail, not a dog without a tail but only a tail which we are seeing,"Nyakairima said.

He was meeting the US ambassador, Jimmy Kolker, at the Fourth division barracks in Gulu on Tuesday.

He said fighting terrorists took a long time but added that the UPDF would restore peace in the war-ravaged northern Uganda.
"The LRA cannot now put together more than 300 guns because we have reduced them to fugitive groups who have resorted to cutting people's limbs, ears, lips and breasts. This is a desperate act which the rebels are doing to attract publicity," he said.
