I think everyone is entitled to comment on Ugandas Politics
The fact that Bob Geldof used the opposition language his comment could have been his own or just a messenger for the big boys in the House of Commons.
Donors are not here to develop Africa if that was the case Africa would be developed by now. Is Bob Geldof is well know to have helped Ethiopians from starvation created by war, but what he doesnt know some one has been making billions and billions of money by supplying weapons before, during and after the war that created the death of millions of people and destroyed the country. But in the picture, you can only see one person and a good one Bob Geldof.
These donations are not simply donations its another way of making the poor countries the subjects of the rich countries. In fact some of these countries would be offended if you would say no more donors in my country.
Its ok to give them free money but:
-not ok to have a fair trade with them
-not ok to support and help them build their own industries.
So tell me, where is your future here?
The same worries that had kept Africa poor for thousands of years are kicking in for china the so called developed countries are worried about the high speed that Chinese are developing. Not only that they are losing the market for their products in china, Chinese industries will soon take developed countries big companies down with their cost effective products.
Recently a Swedish company well know for manufacturing and supplying communication systems world over had a contract to sell a multimillion communication system to Thailand when a Chinese company by surprise took the contract at the last minute. That was a big brow for Ericsson and this is just the beginning.
Developed countries believe when they are the only ones with industries and everything that comes with the technolo gy, the environment will be destroyed but at a small scale. But the aim is not the environment they simply want to control the world market. Then they can have their industries supply those countries with fewer industries like in this case Africa.
Today one hears a little bit of propaganda how environment is at stake because of chinas high speed development they say if every one in china will afford a car and lives a western life the out come will be a disaster. The truth is, environment is the last thing on their mind but its the most political issue that anyone can buy because they know how to scare the public with their fake research. If everyone in China would afford a car to them that wouldnt be a problem what scares them most is that more than 60% of these cars will probably be made by Chinese themselves and thats where the problem is. In todays world market is power.
So now you know why you should get free money than to make your own and again you know why they n ever get tire of donating. In this world there is nothing for nothing.
I can tell you this now, if you dont believe me look back in your past or wait for the future. Any government in Africa that its vision and goals are to develop into an industrial state will never last in power this has nothing to do with African leaders or poor politics even if they have succeeded in making the world to believe that.
Like African people most Europeans and American citizens are not aware of these games. They believe that Africa is poor because of bad leaders and poor politics or luck of democracy as they put it. they dont understand how Africans can get that much help but still cant make it on their own what they dont know is that the donations they give are not there to serve purposes of their choice.
I remember while studying we had a discussion and I chose Africa and its problems. what I didnt realize, the time was too short to talk about Africa and be understood an d so was my case but I learnt a lot anyway.
One of them is how the people outside Africa look at Africa in general. And to me that was very interesting especially how the media and politics in the western world created a picture of Africa in the minds of their people. I am very much sure thats why there are a lot of donations to Africa and am again sure if there was a little truth to it the situation would have been much better. most people in Europe and America with no governments involved would prefer seeing Africa standing on her own and they would do anything and I mean anything to see that happening but the problem, the TRUTH is hidden from them. Some of those people who know the truth have been actively criticizing developed countries for their indirect policies on developing countries even if they are telling the truth they dont have power and so they are seen as people who think they can change Africa and its problems something that governments have failed to solve. Uga nda needs development not donors.
