Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) envoy, Dr Sulaiman Kiggundu, has warned of a liberation war in the country.
"We do not want to create a situation of another liberation war. But if President Yoweri Museveni continues to rule Uganda after 2006, there will be the third liberation war," Kiggundu told residents of Yumbe at a public rally on Sunday.
This was during the launch of Yumbe FDC office on Nakari Avenue in Yumbe town. "During the National Resistance Movement bush war struggle with Museveni, we never planned to make one person to cling to power for decades and also never planned to intimidate people for making choices for their leaders and parties but these things are now happening," Kiggundu said.
He said the Movement is pushing the referendum on political transition to the grassroot people to manipulate them and prolong their position in power.
He said FDC at the moment had no intention of participating in the forthcoming referendum.
"We are yet to discuss whether we should participate or not," he said.
Kiggundu said there were many Baganda in FDC and this time they would vote with other Ugandans to bring about change.
He feared the Movement would make Ugandan leadership hereditary.

Addressing students of St. John Bosco Lodonga Primary Teachers College in Yumbe, the FDC Chief Mobiliser, Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu, said Museveni's failure to pick his successor means he failed in leadership.
"If Museveni fails to pick a successor in NRM, it means people who have been working with him are failures or he is a failure in leadership," Muntu told the students.
