Boda-boda operators in the district have set conditions for politicians who want to use them during campaigns in the referendum and general elections.
This was resolved during a meeting of Lira Boda-boda Bicycle Operators Association on Saturday.

They resolved that any politician will only access boda- boda for mobilisation after paying a fixed sum of money at the office of the association.
This will eliminate practices where politicians in the past have exploited their services by giving them only waragi which often led to fights among themselves in support of different politicians.
They quoted the recent example during the launch of FDC offices in Arua.

The Chairman of the association, Mr Bosco Odongo, blamed some politicians in the district for causing divisions in the association.
One of the members, Mr Francis Onapa, was accused of having recently organised an illegal meeting at Adyel Division where he received a cheque of Shs1 million from an MP without the knowledge of other members.
