It is not all very clear
Let�s take emotion out of this detention.
Museveni has a track record of court marshalling officers who go public about their grievances. Tumukunde must have been aware of that when he sat down with one FM station and spoke out.
To his credit, Museveni says the army must have a working code of conduct which must be adhered to. Fine. But until his arrest, Tumukunde was wearing two hats � as an army officer and as an MP. We already know that his military role forbade airing of any concerns, but what did his capacity as an MP entail?
Nowadays MPs spend their waking hours on FM political programmes supporting or derailing one cause after another.
Mr. Arthur Kiiza seems to understand the issues, please enlighten me. It seems like the military chaps in Parliament are muzzled 24/7, why do they go there in the first place?

All these are tricks
Everybody is claiming to be prosecuted at this time.It is greed.It is common knowledge all these guys want to become presidents; I wonder how many we shall have! Let them not camouflage under the cover of prosecution.Let them come out clear and state it that they want to be presidents.
Some of us are sill sober and will not blindfolded by the likes of Tumukunde and Muntu.
We shall continue to preach the good news of Museveni government.

Experience Adds Wisdom
Hi all,
Every experience adds to one some more wisdom.
While we do not have detailed info. upon which to make informed judgements on the arrest, it is important that this be a learning experience to our afande Tumukunde,
much as it may be a bitter one.
First of all, detaines & prisoners must be held in an officers' - like mess with access to comfort facilities as:
T.V, Computers & access to distance educ., Library Books
including holy books, warmth, comfortable beddings, decent clothing, Telephone access from or to family ....
The stories we have heard or read from previous detaines especially from safe houses tend to reveal the opposite.
Tumukunde may emerge out from his ordeal unbruised, but certainly a few days of life in "safe houses"- type of conditions would have added to him more wisdom, for better leadership at this time, or in the future UGANDA .
We Africans are more aware that "what goes round comes around" and so if afande Tumukunde is good, then his goodness shall come around back to him, and if he is a bad guy, the same thing will happen. What is most important now is the good lessons to be learnt from it all.
I hope afande is reading this as we wish for him, as for all, the basics of HUMAN RIGHTS and dignity through justice.

People do not know much about Tumukunde.
I have read some opinions about Tumukunde's arrest and some are embarrassing and disgusting. I challenge any Ugandan to come out and say Tumukunde arrested this or that when he was in power. Just don�t write nonsense when you cannot point out one example. When Tumukunde supported Museveni in 2001 elections, he thought Museveni would respect the constitution and retire in peace. Remember Tumukunde was one of the participants in 1995 constitutional making and therefore had to respect it. Tumukunde�s politics have been clean and he is one of the few Ugand an UPDF officers who can listen and solve the problems of the people. Why do you think he won CA elections in Rubabo? He has a good mind and even if he is tortured and embarrassed, he will never be forced to A is right when actually it is wrong. You should know Tumukunde is there to stay and of course there are signs of a dying regime in Uganda. Torture Tumukunde, embarrass him and do anything you want to him, but Museveni will not manage to do that to every Ugandan who can tell right from wrong. We support you Brig. Henry Tumukunde.
