Last year, this same Museveni claimed he'd meet with Mr. Bill Gates during UNAA Seattle. Guess what? He couldn't even get a glimpse of Bill's famous house!
Millionaires do not amass their wealth by being stupid or naive enough to want to invest in a certified kleptocracy. Even Bill Gates, who I understand has been to Uganda -- to visit gorillas rather than meeting with our kleptocrat-cum-dictators --, hardly invests a dime in Uganda.
If Richard makes it to Uganda, I suspect it'll be for much the same reason as for Bill.
What return on investment (ROI) would the world's 7th richest man expect on a transaction with Uganda to justify more than an hour's attention, given that we are still smarting from Kagame's recent snub? I mean, can you imagine being stood up by some chap with whom you share an embassy building in London and is your next-door neighbor back in Africa and also a former comrade-in-arms, for crying out loud?
Some advice to Kuteesa & co: don't hold your breath!

Richard Branson, the seventh richest man in the United Kingdom and among the richest individuals in the world, is to visit Uganda on an investment-orientated trip.
The self-made billionaire estimated to be worth USD$ 6.5b was invited by President Yoweri Museveni. Branson is the CEO of the Virgin group and Virgin Atlantic Airline, UK�s second largest airline after British Airways.
The invitation was delivered by foreign affairs minister Sam Kutesa during a meeting at his residence in London on May 27.
�He is interested in some areas like banking, airlines and telecoms,� Kutesa said yesterday without giving a date of his visit.
High Commissioner to London Dr. Tomasi Sisye Kiryapawo, who played a key role in the success of the meeting, was present. Kutesa said they discussed investment opportunities in telecommunication, air transportation, banking and oil exploration.
On accepting the invitation, Branson artic ulated the importance of an efficient airline, saying it opened up a nation.
�An efficient airline is instrumental in promoting the country and its interests to the outside world,� he said.
