Where is the NRM we knew in 1986?

When President Yoweri Museveni took over power on January 26, 1986, he was seen as the redeemer of mankind in Uganda. He so much raised people's expectations when he presented the National Resistance Movement ten-point programme which was the fundamental working document of the Movement.

Today it is that system that has turned sour!
It is like the system has lost direction to such levels of letting Vice President Gilbert Bukenya lament in newspapers to fight for his rights.

He has petitioned the Inspector General of Government to probe all leaders? wealth to achieve fair play.
This reflects that he does not trust the cabinet.
Yet in the army, Museveni is not having a bed of roses either.

Apart from the issue of ghost soldiers, cases of what the commander-in-chief has termed indiscipline are on the rise.

The scenario reflects Uganda in 1971 and 1985 when the army ousted former President Milton Obote from power.
One wonders where the NRM vision is as regards democracy, security, unity and the rest.

Tears run down my cheeks as I think about the millions of lives lost in the Kony war in Acholi and Lango.
I suggest it is high time we worked together for the better.

Dear FDC:

Some of us knew from way back , that the NRM really did not have any "vision" so to say.

Indeed , we have now been proved right as  hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens meet premature death  in NRM created wars in Northern and Eastern Uganda.

Moreover, we are now  witness , on a dialy base,  the now rampant endemic corruption , nepotsim, favoutratisim  with the 'movement government"
