Surfing through my mailbox I came upon an article by some brother regarding a Ugandan Ambassadors subsequent visit to What strike me are the lies and distortion undertones in it. As usual my concern here is truth-dose. I am only concern with this particular part of the right and wrong. I exonerate myself from commenting obscure Party-political aspects, biasing, impact and what have we.... The honourable gentleman asserts a typical characteristic of Movement supporters or psychopats as he calls them. I hear, they are usually people who are not in touch with what goes on around them. The authors conclusion is based on the poor turn out at the AMBASSADORS AUDIENCE.
THAT IS PURE MISPRESENTATION OF FACTORS. The way I see it, that is a hallmark of the way certain categories of Ugandan vaunts always bluff.
Firstly, the author actually (on the contrary) exhibits unawareness / unconsciousness to the custom of the society. So, I wonder what category that makes him. The truth of the matter is (according to my personal observation) that the AMBASSADORS VISIT WAS BADLY TIMED. The particular weekend was SKOLAVSLUTNINGSHELG (Graduation weekend?!). Those who know the Swedish society well and are accustomed to the ceremonial ritual it means, will tell you that this is the peak of family high time. And, those who know how much importance the feastivity means in the Swedish custom for the parents to supportively celebrate together with their kin, know what I am talking about. In fact, parents who leave their families alone and go out to attend some other function like the Ambassadors audience are considered irresponsible. This is the time when if you do not have your own children, you go celebrate with your neighbours or relatives or friends of friends. So, the writers conclusion that it could have been unconscious protest or inability or incapability or what ever is pure garbage. It only shows he is not in touch with what goes on around him in the Swedish society. FURTHERMORE, THE A RENEGADE FORMER ARMY OFFICER BLASTED THE AMBASSADOR SHOULD BE TAKEN WITH A LITTLE SOME SALT. THE BLASTED COULD BE THE USUAL UGANDAN-STYLE CONTEXT WHERE BLASTED DOES NOT REALLY MEAN BLASTED. SEEMS MORE TO ME THAT HE WAS JUST THERE ELUSIVELY "SNAILING" BACK OR TRYING TO WIN ADMIRATION FROM FELLOW UGANDAN WHO USED TO BE HIS OWN ADVERSARIES. Perhaps I am wrong, but, my concern is that the truth should always be the truth. We are tired of serial- production of propaganda distortion for personal vendetta. rgds noc'l |
