They met, had sex and she allegedly became pregnant with his child. But now the woman says 26-year old Sterling Davis Williams lied to her when he said he didn't have HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. The South Dakota man faces five counts of knowingly exposing at least one woman to HIV.

Two women claim they had sex with Sterling Davis Williams separately, several times between May and July of this year. But according to court papers, Williams lied when they asked him whether he was HIV positive. The women say they found out after seeing medication used to treat the virus in Williams' home.

The investigation into Sterling Davis Williams started on July 7th, when two women came forward together claiming to be victims of the 26-year-old. Loren McManus, with the Sioux Falls Police Department, says, "We had gotten some information at that time that there was an individual who was known t o be HIV positive and while knowing that he was HIV positive engaged in unprotected sexual intercourse."

According to court papers, one of the women told investigators she'd been involved in a sexual relationship with Williams since May and became pregnant with his child. She claims when she asked the 26-year-old if he had HIV he told her, "No, I do not have AIDS."

But the woman says, while at Williams' home, she found prescription medication. She says she called two different pharmacies and was told the medications are commonly used to treat HIV.

Court documents also reveal Williams had a phone conversation with the victim on July 10th, while he was in the State Penitentiary on a parole violation. During the call, Williams allegedly told the woman to tell police she knew he had HIV before they had sex, otherwise, "I will never get out of here."

The other woman's story is much the same. She too claims Williams told her he did not have HIV. Officials are no w asking anyone who may have had contact with Williams to come forward. McManus says, "If anybody out there feels that they may have been victimized by Mr. Williams they need to contact our department with any information they can provide."

According to court papers, Williams was diagnosed with HIV in May of 2002. He's currently in the State Penitentiary on a parole violation out of Beadle County, but faces up to an additional 75 years behind bars if found guilty.

Right now, he's only being charged with intentionally exposing one of the women. We wanted to show you Williams' picture, in the interest of public safety, but the Beadle County Sheriff wouldn't release Williams' four-year-old mug shot. The prison warden says state law prevents him from releasing Williams' photo because Williams is already in custody. If you feel you've been victimized, you can call the police department at 367-7234.
