Dear Your Lordship the Mayor!

- Urban Planning is one thing and physical planning another.

- Proposal: Let Nakasero Hill be renamed Hotel Village – Muyenga Mental
Map. Does it make economic sense or social sense at all? (Consult red light
district, or Copenhagen Vesterbrogade{western bridge street}, New York ghettos
- emergence)

- Former Uganda Commercial Bank Building is soon becoming a bazaar –
absurdly is becoming ugliest building in Kampala – in recent time (crested
towers) Shifting Luwum, William streets up hill!!!

- Two men standing across, down diamond building, where Bwanika closely
scrutinises the structural design, one of them explains to the other – “ he has
just been back, marvelling at recent development “ – I bust into hearty
laughter.

- Any one with a picture of former UCB building kindly, send it to me –
for remembrance.

- When you with your children want to; play netball, basketball, football
or tennis or just do some systematic track running, javelin or high jump, where
will you do it in Kampala for example? Centenary Park!

- Interesting so – it’s particularly W. W. Rostow’s last stage of
”economic development ”, mass consumption, that has culminated into all
“developed nations” contemporised problematicities from; destructive leisure
consumption, drug abuse, urban disintegration, aimless criminality and
violence, perverted sexualism, education collapse, (Makerere problematicities)
etc.

- Wankulukuku, Namboole or Nakivubo Nation stadium – or Lugogo – Kampala
is now 10 km in radius.

- Uganda revellers pour out to Nabugabo, Entebbe “bitch” to swim – reason
being, Kampala’s only swimming pools are for first class tourist at Kampala
five star hotels majority at Nakasero hill.

- Children along river Nile, if they don’t acquire bilharzias, they can
become ready meat for crocodiles or they compete for space with fish in rivers
and lakes. They can as well go hunting!

- Other towns in Uganda, i.e. Lira, Moroto, Mbale (international
stadium), Jinja, Masaka, Kabale, Kasese – lack even the most basic facilities,
that is Uganda 40 years after independence. Modernised.

- The Greeks were some how stupid to assume A HEALTHY MIND IN A HEALTHY
BODY. Urban planners.

- Kizito a young bodaboda cyclist fell into a street manhole and has
never been seen again – a European thought Africans don’t value life - I had no
counter argument.

- Let me first argue those who want to know more about DECENTRALISATION
details to consult the Germany experience, a country with enough; financial
clout and human resources, better organisation tools etc.

- Decentralisation can’t work in a basically poverty (scientificity,
technical, moral) ridden nation like Uganda – the sooner it is dismantled the
better.

- Let for me for once, inform my executive readers, when I talk of urban
planning I don’t mean to add Mukono to Kampala as well informed Uganda physical
planners have already designed, in pursuit of a New York - No. Namanve.

- We’re fully familiar with urban issues in which we are well instructed,
since some of us are also European educated sociologist. www.idrconsulting.com

- In other words, we at integrated development research & consultancy
(idr&c) imply to create completely new forms of human settlements.

- With focus essentially on biological necessity for human kinds i.e.
environmental needs/concerns, social needs and wants, biological and ecological
trepidations. (People think only about money and children too!)

- Ugandans today have words such as; Deal Esiranye (deal going sour),
Bifunna (does it profiteer) on a business deal, Ndilawa (how do I profiteer) =
tantamount to Amins’ Kusamula (swift business) on any business and/or air
supply deal, etc.

- Urban planning driven by physical planning in Uganda is set to reach
new heights and in a short period the entire country will be urban planning
using idr&c guideline and we are pushing harder towards that end.

- Good news, Bugiri Town council is also joining the oil train, tendering
for physical planner/s to plan Bugiri town – flowers can grow through stones!
You can apply and express your interest and do the needful, tendering fee is
Uganda shillings 50,000.

- One factor you should understand is – “as I’ve already written this
country is not going to change anyway, unless monetary egotism, driving
politics is condensed to a cold ego. Talking from both side of ones mouth.

- Even you can come to me and we discuss to do some simple urban and
physical planning for your district or village town my addresses are given
below.

- Our goal is to redirect society without “fundamentally” disorganising
society institutions (native diversities) to generate corresponding production
patterns.

- Our urban planning idea is primarily that human societies do not change
fundamentally. (Ten Point Programme)

- As sheer experience of self-gratification or military sciences.

- I’ll not listen to anyone, exalting utilitarian and self-interested
individuals who stop my struggle to change the conditions of our people and
unfettered distribution of resources what our programme is all about.

- Idr & c is aware of planning theories, what works and not, consequences
and impacts. Planning is now here with the African.

- Those who can read can urban plan
