Sudan said yesterday it was "extremely disturbed" by President Yoweri Museveni's statement on the plane crash that killed John Garang after his visit to Kampala.
Speaking to Sudan News Agency, the Minister of Information and Telecommunication, Mr Abd-al-Basit Sabdarat, said that they were concerned because the Ugandan president was the one who informed them that the plane was missing, yet he said on Friday said the crash might not have been an accident.
Sabdarat said speculative utterances would jeopardise investigations.
"We are making efforts to investigate the saddening incident and we have started by setting up a technical committee and we hope that all parties, especially Uganda, will stop issuing statements which are not based on facts," he said.
