THE body of the former UPC Secretary General and Minister for Internal Affairs during the Obote II regime, Dr Luwuliza Kirunda, arrives in the country at the weekend, a party official confirmed yesterday.
Mr Peter Walubiri, Secretary General to the UPC's Constitution Steering Committee, said the flight, date and time of arrival of the body was not yet confirmed.
"We have not confirmed the details yet but we are certain that the body would be here over the weekend," Walubiri said.
Kirunda passed away on Monday morning. He died a few hours after he had been admitted in a rural Zimbabwean hospital, near Bulawayo town.
Walubiri said Kirunda would be buried at Buloghodha, a kilometre from Busembatya in Iganga district.
He said the burial programme would be released as soon as the body arrives. " Once the body is here, details of burial arrangements would be released," he added.
