I have not read Ugandan papers today. Last time around, it seemed as if President Musseveni did not close and radio station but the responsible mass medial committee or board or which ever the institution governing press freedom, did.
Was it not so?! ![]()
In that case, they the politicians who appoint and audit the functions of such institutions should be the ones under fire. I guess there is a parliamentary committee to that purpose with members from respective political parties.
Are they tongueless or toothless?! If so, why? If they are so incompetent or feel they can not execute their mandate, then why do they not resign?! Are they there just to EAT while the dinner table lasts?!
What is the LAWMAKERS silence about?!
Perhaps they know what we do not?!
Like I was saying, President Musseveni is an actor. The ones whose jurisdiction and mandate is to safeguard the rules of the game are the ones who should stand public scrutiny for limping press freedom.
They should come out with clear articulation of the correct interpretation of Uganda's press freedom.
