Fellow Citizens:

I would like you to bare in Mind that It has always been NRM policy, call it unwritten one if you  like ,  for the regime in Kampala   to hide, so to say, the true  death statistics of Ugandans living in the IDP camps of Northern and Eastern Uganda.

Now that Prominent international organizations like  WHO, Unicef, WFP, UNFPA, to note but a few,  after conducting a thorugh survey , have concluded that close to 1,000 Ugandans  die every week as a result of Museveni's wars in Northern and Eastern Uganda, the regime in Kampala would like to disassociates itself completely from the findings contained in the said report.

Why? for the following reasons:

a)Because the    report on IDP  deaths  will most definately dent the Image of Yoweri Museveni's Uganda among  members of the International Commuinty.

You are, most definately aware, fellow citizens, that  the Regime in kampala has ,  over the  years, spent billions of Shillings ( hard  earned  Uganda tax Payers monies) to hire  International PR firms to help promote Uganda's Image abroad.A report such as the IPD death report will not came in handy to help Yoweri Museveni's Uganda.

b) The IDP death report is also a sad commentary on  the NRM Regime.  It shows, ..rather  exposes for the world to see  the   Incompetence and the lack of care the NRM has for it's  Citizens.....something which, if I might add, as been the  hallmark of NRM military dictatorship. Indeed, Museveni and his NRM would rather fight and Defeat "kony"  at whatever cost  the defeat of "Kony" to the people of Uganda.

If it means defeating "Kony" at the cost of 1,200,000 Millions Ugandan Lives...and Millions of  wasted dollars  in Defense spending, while a great majority of Ugandans   in the country are subjected to excruciating poverty , so be it!! This then seems to be the MO of the regime in Kampala

Now we hear, and correctly so  given the severe  ramifications of the the IDP report that one of Yoweri Museveni's so called Minister , is now back peddling ..stating that she does not aggree with the finding of the report ..which by the way Museveni own Ministry of health  has already endorsed..I will let you judge the mental capability of this Ms. Christine Aporu. Indeed, you can only begin to wonder as to why people chose to reduced themselves to such level..

Well, in any case, we will see as things continue to unfold!!!

The Irony is that Yoweri Museveni's  own Ministry of Health aggreed to the finding contained in the report.. that 1,000 Ugandans were dying each week in the Camps of Northern Uganda Alone...( forget Eastern Uganda)

THE government is contesting a United Nations report, which revealed that up to 1,000 people die every week from disease and hunger in camps for the internally displaced people in conflict-hit north.

The Health and Mortality Survey, as the report is called, was compiled by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the UN Children's Fund (Unicef), World Food Programme (WFP), UN Population Fund (UNFPA), the International Rescue Committee as well as the UK Department for International Development (DFID).

The Minister of State for Northern Uganda Reconstruction, Ms Grace Akello, told Daily Monitor on Friday, the survey did not represent the whole of northern Uganda.

"They carry out surveys in one or two camps and compile reports, I am very uncomfortable with that figure, I want another survey although the Ministry of Health and Acholi local governments seem to have endorsed the report," she said.

The government spokesman and Minister of State for Information, Dr James Nsaba Buturo, called the report an exaggeration.
