RRIA LATEST NEWS - Kampala, Uganda, Sept 08: The Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) says it will boycott the upcoming general elections if the government of Uganda doesn’t dismantle Internally Displaced People’s camps in Northern Uganda. Speaking during a weekly press briefing at the party headquarters in Kampala, UPC constitutional Steering Committee Secretary General Peter Waluburi said, UPC is also calling for exclusion of the Army and Major Kakooza Mutale’s Kalangala Action Plan from the exercise saying these have always marred the electoral process. Walubili condemned Dr. James Rwanyarare for shaming the Party president Dr. Milton Obote by dragging him to court. Walubiri further said, UPC’s President Dr Apollo Milton Obote is ready to defend the case filed against him by Rwanyarare. Walubiri, who also is the party lawyer, said on Wednesday Obote had not yet received the summons but he was equipped with all the legal requirement to respond to Rwanyarare. Walubiri said,  “We shall wait for the summons to be served and Obote will absolutely respond at an appropriate time.”
