Perhaps you mean Uganda needs certain of Obotes visions and ideals (among many other Ugandan's).

THIS IS 2005(!!!!)

First, the UPC party have to need him. Later development seems to transpire conflicting positions.

Kasangwawo;
I understand your feeling and concerns, but you must remember that I actually lived through that period. And my main aim in writing the article is not to modify or change history, but rather to seek a way forwards as one nation. I do not stand up and express great happiness or satisfaction of what happened to Sir Edward because there was no time during those days that I had the Kabaka, Baganda or any tribe for that matter as obstruction or threat to my existence, belief or way of life. As an ordinary citizen, what happened is history and can only refer to it when the time and circumstances justify. It does not affect my relations with anybody in Uganda.
Uganda history is very dynamic and things keep changing as anywhere else but we should be more interested in how a civic citizenry is achieved and sustained. Our problems seem to be that we do not apply the rule of law with equal fervor as we embrace sectionalism. This causes all sorts of problems as we have witnessed in the country. Leaders that are widely accepted and trusted fairly across the country are very few. Many speak sectarian language from introduction or day one and that sends simmer of fear and lack of support to other groups that feel threatened by the new leader.
Obote on the other hand has maintained constant theme of one Uganda everywhere he went and spoke one encouraging language at every functions that he held. So, sending me to read more information of what happened in Uganda in 1966 may not help us at the present time. That 1966 incidence was for illustrative purposes only not apportioning blame of who was right or wrong.

Thank you

Onegi

There we go again - empty statements and justifications !!!
Just two months ago I posted here details about the background of the 1966
crisis. Up to now you have not produced any evidence contradicting what I
posted or pointing out any factual errors. But here you come again with the
usual 'Kabaka ordered the central government out of Buganda'. If you failed
to internalize the information first time round, you can re-read the article
at:

under '1966 crisis'.
