"Kutesa said, "We know what human tragedy can mean.  Unfortunately in Africa much of it has been man-made instead of natural.  The human tragedies of Idi Amin and Milton Obote, for example, led to the deaths of more than 800,000 Ugandans" in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Now, he said, Uganda is one of the best friends America has in Africa and "we look forward to strengthening our relations as we both cope with the aftermath of disasters that have struck our countries."

Fellow Citizens of Uganda and Members of the International Commuinty:

It nauseating for Mr. Sam Kutesa to use the suffering of the people of New Orleans as a result of Hurricane Katrina, to score cheap political gains with the Americans.

Why for instance , must "Minister" Sam Kutesa drag in Milton Obote's name  to score his points?

As I write there are over 1.4 Million people ( Northern Ugandans) living under squalid condition in NRM created Camps of Northern Uganda..how about that "minister" Kutesa? who has created that Human Tragedy? Amin obote?

Secondly, I am not so sure that the people of the United States would like to associate with a Military dictatorship  such as that of the NRM  to such extent that Uganda becomes the "best Friend" the US has in the region. I think that will be an insult to the people of This country.

"Minister" Kutesa, as we share in agony the suffering of our people in New Orleans  and Northern Uganda..please spare us your cheap politics!!

Matek
