Some sinister contriver is taking our rights for a ride. Some one is informed to inform us and is sitting on the information. WHO IS HOARDING INFORMATION?! WHO IS HOARDING INFORMATION FROM THE PEOPLE?!
The Acoli community has never been informed about the visit by the On Friday, 26.August.2005, a masqueraded meeting for Acoli in Funny, an Acoli meeting for the general community without informing the general community?!?! Well, these days such do not belong to rarity. I got to know about it from someone who knew someone who knew someone. So I invited myself. I got to know too, that the meeting was to DECIDE ON WHETHER OR NOT TO BOYCOTT THE UGANDAN DELEGATION. Yes, you read it correctly. A group of eight or nine decides that the Acoli community does not welcome the delegation. HOW?? At the meeting too, was folk from some Ugandan political interests. I thought this was an Acoli meeting. WHO INVITED THOSE NON-ACOLI POLITICAL INTEREST FUNCTIONARIES?!? In what capacity and, as WHO / WHOM?? Yet, that was not bad enough. The non- Acoli at the Acoli meeting out numbered us. Some Acoli meeting , that. Present were among others: Charles Kaggwa Ocitti, Mike Ocure Ocaya, Stephen Onekgiwu Ocaya, Apollo Lawoko, Rwot Bwongomono and two other youths from ASS and myself, of course. Completely out numbered by non Acoli at a meeting which was supposed to be for Acoli to plan and decide their reception!!! The Ambassadors letter (copied to Lawoko) states clearly that the delegation wishes to have audience with Acoli. And, goes on to say similar meeting should be arranged in other cities as well for those communities who can not come to I MADE SEVERAL COMMUNICATIONS WITH GOTHENBURG AND MALMÖ. Now you read and get amazed: THOSE ACHOLI COMMUNITY DO NOT (at least did not until I told them) KNOW ABOUT ANY SUCH VISIT. Yet some one has already decided on their behalf that they boycott the delegation?! At the meeting I insisted, protested any decision of forming of any committee without consensus. You can not on the one hand say Musseveni should talk to Kony and you yourself boycott the same information opportunity. You can not on the one hand want to make a speech and on the other call on people to boycott the meeting. Whom are you addressing then!? You can not on the one hand talk about dialogue and on the other boycott opportunity for the same. You can not talk about democracy and on the other hand go and make undemocratic decisions in the name of the Acoli community. MOST IMPORTANTLY, you can not holler transparency, transparency, yet, go and make decision on my behalf without letting me know who you are. I want to know who constituted the committee. I want to know their names. I want to know the text of the decision and I want to know entrusted the so called committee with the mandate? Why did they not boycott Rukana Rugunda (27.August.2005)?!?!? That is democracy and transparency.
