In view of the article below, there are certain elements within the US Administration, Members of Senate and Congress men/women who think that Yoweri Museveni Kaguta is the greatest phenomenon ever since the invention of Apple pie. Museveni's Supporters within  the US administration /senate  and or  Congress cannot....repeat cannot  reconcile their support of Dictator Yoweri Museveni's NRM Regime with the suffering the people of Uganda have been going through under Museveni's NRM. To support Museveni is to support the Human Tragedy which continues to unfold in Northern Eastern  Uganda. A Nation cannot claim to be a "defender of Human Rights", even as our friends in the west have time and time again asserted  and at the some time support Museveni's terrorist Regime...Do not tell me that the  sufferings which has been going on in Northern /Eastern Uganda for now 20 years was brought about by some illusive rebe l called "kony" !!

"Kony", those will brains will agree with me, is not responsible for the wellbeing of Ugandans ;  The Government of the day is!!!!!!!

. That stated,  it becomes the prime  responsibility  of the government to protect it's citizens.   IF the Government FAILS to do so, which apparently is the case with Museveni'e regime, then other means including negotiations with "Kony" must be conducted in ernest    or the regime should send an appeal to the UN requesting the UN to  deploy  " UN  peace keeping force, to do that which the Government  cannot do..I.e protect the people.

As for Museveni ..all he knows is how to utter propaganda geared to  Ugandans and his supporters abroad....day in day out.. We , the people of Uganda, are tired of NRM propaganda .

THE International Rescue Committee (IRC) has called for increased funding to achieve the minimum humanitarian standards in the north.

CiarĂ¡n Donnelly, who oversees IRC's humanitarian aid programmes in Uganda, was reacting to a September 5 health report on the north.

"This report quantifies the human cost of the conflict in northern Uganda, and reinforces what has for long been referred to as a grave humanitarian crisis," Donnelly said.

He called for a massive response to address the immediate needs of affected people and to achieve a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

The report, which examined war-related death from January to July 2005 in Gulu, Kitgum and Pader districts, indicates that more than 1,000 civilians die every week in the north due to the conflict.

The number goes beyond those who die under normal circumstances.
