Fellow citizens:
The conflict  in Northern Uganda will not be solved by Some NGO  pouring in more funds and resources in a move to address some of the issues.

We have a very pressing issue in Northern Uganda , It is political in Nature. That much we all agree.

That stated,  the problems in Northern Uganda specifically , and Uganda in general can and will only be solved  through political means.

Throwing GOOD  money here and there in an effort to  solve the issue at hand, will not work.  If anything it can ONLY  provide a temporary bandage  on wound , so to say, which can ne ver  heal!!

SAVE the Children Uganda last week launched a $19.5 million education project at St.Monica Tailoring School in Gulu, which will benefit children in the war affected areas.
The four-year project on Global Challenge on Education in Conflict and Post Conflict Areas will end in 2009 and targets children of school going age.
The Project National Coordinator, Mr George Gena, told Daily Monitor that Save the Children Uganda, would provide education for thousands of children in conflict areas in the next four years.
"We hope to improve the quality of education for 250,000 children in areas of conflict and support schools and communities affected by conflict and promote protection of children from violence and abuse," he said.

Gena said the project also aims at persuading the government of Uganda and donors to increase financial assistance to education for children in areas affected by conflict.
He said in northern Uganda, over Shs2 billion provided by Danida and Unicef is ready for the implementation of the emergency education programme for children affected by the Lords Resistance Army war, the first project under the four-year $19.5 million programme that begins this month in the districts of Gulu, Pader, Lira and Apac.
