The fifth candidate in the just concluded Presidential Elections Miria Obot! e has rejected the just released Election results.Miria Obote says the election exercise was not free and fair. She accuses the incumbent government of manipulating the Electoral process.Miria Obote also says she can not tale any Ministerial appointment on Museveni's cabinet.She cautions the NR M government to end northern war, stop corruption and introduce a federal system of governance to avert possible social political calamities.

By Dick NvuleSaturday, 25 February 2006 Presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye, who came in second behind President Museveni, rejects today's results declared by the Electoral Commission.
According to the Commission, Besigye polled 37 percent of the votes behind incumbent Yoweri Museveni, who polled 59.2 percent.
Besigye told a press conference at his home in Mbuya, shortly after the declaration that his party will not accept the poll results until he receives signed copies of all district tally sheets.
He says the Electoral Commission violated electoral Laws which require that only signed tally sheets be used to decl are results.
Besigye says that his party's own tally center has been slow in receiving signed sheets.
By the time the Electoral commission made final declaration, his party's center had only tallied a quarter of the national results, he said.
He says t hat there are wide discrepancies between results announced by the commission and his own party's results tally center.
Besigye says that it will take his party a day to complete the national tally.
Until that is done,! he flatly rejects the results of the Electoral Commission.Last Updated ( Saturday, 25 February 2006 )
