Museveni has a challange
Museveni has cadres ---- over 2,000,000 in Uganda
But he still won with 4.000.000 votes which can be translated like most
cadres did not even win their wives votes. If each cadre won a vote for
Museveni it would have gone above 4,000,000 votes and according to the
court ruling its obvious the elections were rigged some how.
Loosing is always part of a fair competition but trust me cheating is one
of the most, back-ward and primitive or unethical methods of attaining
success so if Musevenis team did so, there is no need to thank but he
must critisize his mobilisers as a democrat for, they used a lot of out
money and nothing democratic seem to have come out of the process.
FDCs going to court was so wise compaired to the decission taken by the
loosers in 1980 so no Ugandan should continue blaming Besigye for going to
court.
Uganda first had multiparty elections in 1980 and . followed by this
(2006) one which was almost fraudulently conducted. See the high court
ruling of 6th April 2006.
These campaigns were dominated by illegal detentions of a rival and his
supporters, torture and killings of the opponents supporters plus denying
opposition a right to use the state media.
Uganda must always ignore foreign observers who always endorse our
fraudulent elections peaceful even in 1980 most observers endorsed that
rigged election Free and fair. Maybe the foreign observers come to
Africa for touring and once they all get excited about the environment or
no attack to their hotels, they simply endorse our elections free and
fair
DEMOCRATIC UGANDA?
Its mayb a general African problem. Most or all African incumbent
Presidents Dictators first make sure they win before they initiate their
elections.
Even in this era we can name some leaders dictators and in our modern
Africa believe me dictators are being elected into power.
Its not strange since most dictators claim to be democrats for instance;
Mugabe claim to be practicing fine democracy and he reasons like; the
enemies of Zimbabwes Demo are mainly the democrats in the Western
europe.
Mobutu Seseko who formerly ruled DRC the former Zaire did not expect any
successful invassion or regime change for, he knew his was the most liked
and a succesful democratic system for the people of Zaire.
Saddam Hussein the former dictator of Iraq also claimed to be a real
democratic leader and was even voted overwhelmingly by the Iraqis. But his
fall amuses.. he was caught just in hole like a rat.
I can not forget the Central African Republics Jean Bokasa a leader who
ended up facing cases some of them included cannibalism.
Believe me Hitler the Nazi Leader claimed to be an excellent leader and
always had the Church blessings when going to war. That is tantamount to
claiming being a real democtat.
General Pinochet Was powerful and in fact he made himself and his family
the richest in the poor country but now try to read about him this familly
will soon become the most desperate in their country.
I can not have time here to mention all the dictators in our history who
claimed to be democrats. I am praying hard our president do not end up the
same way.
Out of Ignorance we some times think electing a president is a final sign
of democracy but may be we miss a point. In Iraq, a Dictator Saddam
Hussein out of fear was voted into power and they unanimously voted for
him which I for one proved did not make him a democrat.
Now, Museveni allowed elections and a day before elections launched a
military group armed with authority to monitor elections with all the
armoured vehichles. Which is almost what happened in 1980 when Paulo
Muwanga the then Chairman of the electoral commision with his millitary
commision took over powers and intimidated to cause caos if any news
reports; Ssemogerere wins
Here in Uganda during the 2006 election campeigns the courts of law lost
their independence as military officers used to sorround the the high
court building during the case proceedings.
During our presidential campeigns, unprofessional security operatives were
armed and and at onetime an officer shoot to kill in Bulange (the premises
of our Kabaka of Buganda).
UGANDAS ELECTORAL COMMISION
This is a commission of 7 people appointed by the president to be
confirmed by the parliament under article 60 of the 1995 constitution. No
transparency can be expected in such a commision especially when the
incumbent president and the kingmaker is standing for another term.
THE JUST CONCLUDED ELECTIONS MUST HAVE BEEN THE MOST UNFREE AND THE MOST
UNFARE MULTIPARTY ELECTIONS UGANDA HAS SEEN SINCE INDEPENDENCE!!
The solutions to political problems must always be political and here we
are only left with FEDERO for all regions which is the fine tool for
democracy.
