TWELVE suspected ADF rebel collaborators recently arrested in security swoops countrywide face charges of treason and misprision of treason.
Sources on Tuesday said investigations into the activities of the suspects; most of them picked in various parts of western Uganda and Kampala city early this month, were almost complete.
Some of the suspects were yesterday taken to the Police surgeon for medical examination, a requirement before a suspect on capital offence is arraigned before court.
The investigation of the suspects, many of them illiterate, had been slowed down by the lack of interpreters as a charge and caution statement from such suspects can only be obtained and recorded by an interpreter who is at the rank of an Assistant Inspector of Police or above.
"That is what has been slowing us down otherwise they should have appeared before court long time ago," a security source said.
Among those arrested are; Azia Turigye, Abdul Wahab Wabwire, Hassan Zakariya, Hassan Mumbe, Zubeda Biira, Saad Ihanga, Basil Mustafa Agaba, Ayub Lukumani.

CID director Elizabeth Kutesa could not be reached for comment.
Sources said detectives from the Anti-Terrorism Unit were doing everything possible to ensure that the suspects are arraigned before court quickly.
