The move by the US is welcomed. but then the issue ...the prime issue at hand is: will the war in Northern Uganda end? The latest Ugandans have heard is that Museveni is threathing "konny rebels" with quote "instant death".....that means more wars ..how then is the USA going to aid schools amid wars and destructions perpertuated by the blue eyed boy Yoweri Museveni Kaguta?... in the end one simply must conclude that the US utterances is mere talk.. nothing but talk!!

The United States government has expressed interest in accelerating social development in northern Uganda that has greatly been destabilised by the 20-year-long insurgency.
The Ambassador, Mr Stephen Browning, said this during a meeting with the Minister of Education and Sports, Ms Geraldine Namirembe Bitamazire, at the ministry's headquarters on Friday.
Browning said the US in conjunction with the Ministry of
Education and Sports would carry out stock assessment in schools in northern Uganda to aid the affected schools.

Browning said 60 US Peace Corps volunteers were already teaching information and communication technology in seven primary teachers' colleges in the country.
"The US Peace Corps volunteers would like to extend their expertise in secondary schools after successfully concluding negotiations with Ministry of Education and Sports," he said.
Bitamazire said she was happy about the idea of the return of US Peace Corps to Uganda. She said the country benefited a lot during the 60's and early 70's when US Peace Corp teachers taught science subjects in secondary schools
