Over 2000 Sabiny have been forced to re-locate into Kenya due to the cattle raids by the Kenya Pokot that have left untold suffering.
According to the LC5 Vice Chairman for Bukwo district, Mr Alex Alinga Mutei, the heavily armed Pokot strike Bukwo district almost every week killing residents and raiding livestock.
Alinga said because residents lack protection, they have had to flee to Kenya where it is safe.
He cited Kaptererwa Parish in Suam Sub-county, Muimet Parish in Bukwo Sub-county, Riwo and Mutesheti Parishes in Kabei Sub-county and Nyalit, Tulel, Kamet parishes in Chesower sub-county as some of the areas deserted.
"Whereas Bukwo district is supposed to be having a population of 68,000 people, the population keeps reducing because of the armed attacks from Kenya Pokot that have left our animals raided, people killed and over 2000 people from four sub-counties running to Kenya to take refuge," Alinga said.

He was on September 18 speaking to Daily Monitor about the hostile relationship between Bukwo and her neighbours the Karimojong and the Pokot in Kenya.
He said recent attacks on Chesower and Suam sub-counties saw 60 and 103 animals stolen respectively.
