A huge Ugandan military plane landed at Baidoa airstrip in southern Somalia. This is the first largest plane ever to land at Baidoa since Somalia's tenuous government made its base in Baidoa.
Shabelle Radio reporter Mohammed Addawe in Baidoa said, the thunderous sound of the plane that landed at the airport early this morning woke everyone in Baidoa town up.
It is not yet known what this plane is carrying as the reporters were intercepted by police.
The arrival of the plane comes at a time when about 200 Ugandan troops were being anticipated to come to Baidoa to protect the town and the temporary presidential palace.

Fifty Ugandan troops had arrived in Baidoa in early August and had given training courses to the government- accumulated militias.
On Monday, large number of Ethiopian troops also came to Baidoa, but Ethiopia denied that any of its troops are in Somalia.
Since president Abdulahi Yusuf survived double suicide bombings in Baidoa, the Ethiopian and Ugandan forces are increasingly penetrating Somalia.
