There come a time when citizens must look at the regime like that of Yoweri
Museveni of Uganda and critically analysis what that regime stands for.
After twenty years, we can comfortably state that the NRM Military
dictatorship is a regime whose basic principal and foundation is based on
Lies.
What makes this even more interesting is that the regimes' supporter in the
west, the British and the Americans, for one reason or other, have pretty much
bought into the NRM lies.....and as a result rendered the regime unconditional
and total support for the past 20 years.
Many a prophet have pointed out to us, that anything whose foundation is
based on lies, often and after a while has a tendency to unravel at the seams.
The Christian Holy book , The bible and that of the Muslims, the Koran have
chapters in which the fall of kingdoms and empires is attributed to a King
whose tongue was or is full of lies.
That stated , We are yet to see the consequences of twenty years of NRM
lies...believe me it will come.
In the meantime, some of the consequences of NRM lies already exist.
Over three hundreds thousand Uganda Citizens from Northern and Eastern
Uganda have died and close to 2 Million others have been living in the refugee
camps of Northern Uganda under squalid inhuman condition for close to 20 years.
Have you ever ask your self as to why such condition was allowed to existed
in Northern and Eastern Uganda without drawing the attention of members of the
International Community , many of whom pride themselves as the so called
defenders of Human Rights ?
The answer is simply. The so called defenders of Human Rights ( Britain and
the USA) , unfortunately , were already co-opted into the NRM camps.
Accordingly they and many Western Mass media projected and disseminated NRM
propaganda for the past twenty years.
The west thus overlooked a Humanitarian disaster which has been taking place
in Northern and Eastern Uganda for 20 years, if only to paint a rose picture of
a NRM Military dictatorship.
Museveni, is looked at as the "strongman" so to say, who basically "whipped
the ignorant primitive native " in to compliance and pumped some sense into
them...!!
And therefore Museveni abuses against the people of Uganda, his reign of
terror, is prosecution of the people of Uganda is simply explained ways by many
of his European supporters.
Another case in point,is the Karamoja issue. There in karamoja land the NRM
military dictatorship over the past twenty years, has instituted a very harse
policy carried out by it's Army the UPDF under the the so called Karamojong
disarmament program, which has seen the death of many innocent Karamojong
fellow citizens.
While many Karamojong were dying during the so called karamojong disarmament
program, members of the International Community lead by the British and the
Americans simply dismissed the fact that this human Rights abuse was taking
place in Karamoja land. Museveni continues to receive their sympathy and
solidarity.
However, is it is often the case, there come a point whereby the status quo,
is no longer tolerable.. There will come a point were by the people of Karamoja
land , or Northern Uganda , of Teso land, of Lango land, or West Nile, will
no longer simply seat and do nothing while the regime continues with it's reign
of terror.
The situation like the Tutsi/ Hutu in Rwanda Burundi , which Museveni is
developing will definitely ensure!.. some western Political observers will ,
will pretend that they are shocked....they will ask themselves as to why the
people are behaving a certain way? the answer would be in the history of
oppression the NRM Military dictatorship have imposed on the people of Uganda
for the past twenty years..
Indeed, in the meantime while the politics of lies and propaganda continues,
the regime in Kampala will continuously find it's self fighting even more
wars.. be it in Karamojoland , in Northern Uganda..or soon in Western Uganda!
