Starved 6year-old dies

Six-year old Rogers, the starved boy who appeared in yesterday's Daily
Monitor is dead.
Rogers died immediately after medical personnel administered a drip on him
yesterday afternoon at Rutooma Health Centre, Bushenyi district.
According to Mr Norbert Byamukama, a clinical officer at the health centre,
Rogers died of malnutrition and dehydration.
Rogers and his grandmother Katsyomezo were found starved in a house in
Rutooma village on Wednesday.
The neighbours alerted the area LC3 sub-county chairman Deus Beyongyera, who
took the couple to the clinic where the boy died.
His father Yekonia Ruzenbo, a war veteran and son to Katsyomezo abandoned
them.
His whereabouts are not known.
Katsyomezo is also in critical condition at the health centre and it is
feared she could also die if she is not helped. Preparations for burial are
underway.
