Others who stood with Uganda for Myanmar were Algeria, Bangladesh, Belarus,
China, Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Egypt, India, Iran, Lao
People’s Democratic Republic, Libya, Malaysia, Myanmar, Oman, Pakistan, Russian
Federation, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, and
Zimbabwe. All these countries ostensibly opposed the country specific
resolutions because their human rights issues may mean a similar vote against
their governments.
