Lord almighty, Step on it, Jennifer. This piece is stupendous if it is not
intended for USA receptors. What on the contrary is alarmingly sensational is
that you do not know why. That for sure scares, to put it mildly.
Perhaps the only thing fully understandable, with this your concern for USA
development is that something is not right. Otherwise, the rest of the logic
is scrap!! You are contradicting yourself and in fact, being hypocritical. As
Regina Lule says, you can not both eat the cake and have it at the same time!
To begin with, I would take you more seriously if you were expressing this
concern over an American (USA) forum with America audience. Why have you posted
it to a Ugandan forum anyway?!
Sometimes you write like you are well versed with FREEDOM, LIBERTY, DEMOCRACY
etc., what is the selective amnesia you display about?
I would suggest you approach your own question: social, psycho-social,
socio-economical and political stimulation point of views. Besides

What do education / wealth confer in as far as human wants are concerned?
You answer that and then we will proceed if you still have not come to terms
with why the educated American and the rich / wealthy class marry the way they
do. People who think like you do are the very reason why Africa is like it is.
People who think like show do here, will never develop Africa. REASON IS: THEY
BOTH WANT TO EAT THE CAKE AND KEEP IT AT THE SAME TIME (as Regina Lule says).
Think about it in as far as acquiring education and social grouping is
concerned.
You can not both go to western schools, acquire Western orientated
civilisation, Western orientated values, acquire Western orientated wants and
simultaneously say DO NOT COPY EUROPEAN VALUES!!! It does not make sense. That
is just being hypocritical!
You see sister, there are spectres of sciences inter and intra acting. As
said, you display not only deficit in your understanding of the situation but
also emotion and prejudice: The situation you are concerned with is nothing
akin to just the USA. It is all over the world, in each and every country are
to be found similar cross section of society classes. It is not any different
with that in Uganda or else where. How often do you see successful Ugandan
socialise way too remote? Even in Uganda there is clear tendency that people
who have acquired certain amount of success / status marry certain kinds of
women. CHECK IT OUT. Girls from some origins, ex. Rwandese are more on demand.
Which country does not have society classes ranging from the lowest
destitute to the highest affluent?
Have you really asked yourself most of the necessary questions that are
central in understanding why and how people fall in love or marry?!

It is all over. There is a whole spectre of factors.
The question is on the contrary, how come you do not understand their
situation, that is what is sensational!!
Just to out-line a few hints: Check out the milieu they live in if it is
conducive to education. Check out their background from infantry. Check out
their health. Check out if they have not been abused. Check out their
respective goals, check out respective hidden handicap that affects their self
esteem, check out

You know, in most countries, it is only recently that social science has come
to attribute poor performance, lack of concentration etc., to ADHD-DAMP (for
example). In countries like Uganda, children with ADHD /Damp are not yet even
identified. There are not even resources that would help them. So, they suffer
through out their school and grown up life without ever knowing that their
problem is ADHD. That they could be extremely intelligent but because of ADHD,
they are unable to discipline themselves or focus on their goals.
In many Western European countries, these are already identified, and there
are resources allocated for that (Including special schools).
Further more, in most affluent countries; the school system is already on
the advent of individual orientation. It means they are already at the level
where almost every individual is able to acquire education that is adopted for
respective talents. THEY CAN BE EXACTLY WHAT THEY BURN FOR INNATELY. It is
still a long destination, but the goal is eminent.
Tomorrow I will append by with a concrete example of the Swedish success
story that the world is so keenly studying (this is where Regina Lule comes in
as well)
