When I was last there, not too long ago, I could sense and feel the difference from when I schooled, lived and worked there. If you can take the piece in its entirety, we can work to get rid of the pest. As to Mao; he doesn't speak for Acoli, and my opinion of him is well known. Sure, there are Acoli M7 praise singers. Hitler had good Christians working for him. The Boers had Blacks beating up and killing fellow Blacks for the Apartheid government.
