For several weeks now, thanks to Nyar'Onyango this forum has been Obamanized,
taking it away from its original mission: Uganda its problems and possible
solutions! At the beginning it was ok to discuss Obama 24/7, but I did not
think it would be this bad (infectious) overthrowing Ugandan forum!

Folks I can understand this kind of excitement, but it is now time to refocus
on what brought us together on this forum and leave this Obamamania alone...The
guy has now settled down to pick his entourage and face the world he promised
to transform/change as if we have never heard these promises from other
leaders before!.

In this Obamanism, I have picked up a few things that are most interest...It is
the same America the world deries that has promised to change the same world it
has messed up...People are taking these promises with a lot of happiness for
one reason, it is no longer being promised by an Ango-American (WASP), but by a
colored man, a crossbreed between an African man and a white woman....

Should some of these promises involve invading Granada, bombing some other
countries, imposing sanctions and continuing to fund dictators in Africa such
as Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, will it still be ok because they are being
implemented by an African American and not a white man?

As far as Obama making history, I am not sure about that either..History was
made long time ago by Martin Luther King who stood up at the most difficult and
chanllenging times and called for the Black man and woman's freedom...He died
for it..

As for Jesse Jackson's tear, Allan I agree with you they were genuine and
moving for a couple of reasons: Had America changed then at the time he run for
the presidency more than 20 years ago, he would have been the first African
American President then.. 2) He had come to grips, that while there are still
rampant racism in his country, America has changed and there is no more going
back...they were tears of joy and not sorrow nor crocodile tears as Mama
Onyango would like us to believe...

Finally, the excitement and happiness expressed by Africans the world over is
an indication that we are still light moons away from attain that essential
element called self-respect...For it is very odd indeed that a man in Yei
Southern Sudan would celebrate an American leadership when the average American
Black or White does not even know who the Sudanese President is...We are still
very racists..

And ladit Philip Potuda, I passed by the City Hall yesterday looking for the
Luo party you promised...There was none...When is it? Kel agwara, adungu and
likembe let us do that larakaraka thing before it gets too cold..I am
experiencing Texan like weather in Ottawa for the few days I have been here.
Cheers
OK

No, I think those were genuine tears. Look, even us black africans from
anywhere in Africa other than Nigeria, we always have a problem with typical
african americans. Not any different with Obama who hasnt any slave blood in
his veins and is such a brilliant man, was even declared not black enough. I
hope they have seen thru the brick wall that had been built around them and
wake up.

  Barigye,

Jesse Jackson was only crying corocodile tears - that man really to sturb
Obama on the back! Some times technology caught him very unaware - if you
missed these - such it in Yahoo! News or ask for help and you shall receive.

  Regards,

  Nyar'Onyango
