The information is contained in a final communique released at the end of the few hours visit of president Joseph Kabila to the Angolan capital. The communique states that president José Eduardo dos Santos seized the opportunity to reiterate Angola's public position of condemnation of the armed rebellion and eventual external interferences, and reaffirmed the country's support for the Congo's legitimate and democratically elected government. The Angolan head of State once again underlined the country's full compliance with the principles contained in the African Union's Constitutive Act, and appealed to the international community to extend its assistance to the victims of the rebels' armed action. President Eduardo Dos Santos also expressed Angola's rejection of the rebels' "secessionist" purposes, emphasising the need for the strict compliance with the African Union's Constitutive Act and the United Nations Charter that clearly ban any member state from serving as a basis for the destabilisation of another one, either through a direct aggression or the support to an armed rebellion. The two presidents considered as urgent the immediate enforcement of the Nairobi and Goma Accords and the decision of the Heads of State and Government of the International Conference from the Great Lakes Region, adopted in Nairobi, on November 7 this year.
