Mr. Njoki,
This behaviour is quite pitiful, but seems too common in Uganda and the
world, but right now, I only care about my/our people, of Uganda.
As I mentioned before we have a new generation who knows no orther way to
get things done but by violent means. *If I do not like you, I slap you. If
I am jealousy of you, I whip you up. If you do some thing wrong to me and I
am angry at you, I find my** gun and shoot you.* These are two well known
officials supposed to be *leaders *in the community, but they are instead
displaying a* VALUE DEFICIENT SOCIETY* we have in Uganda. They do not know
how to resolve conflict in a civil fashion. So what do they do? Resort to
violence!! A few weeks ago a lady, and member of parliament also hit a poor
woman who was begging as I recall. Then parliament members were reported in
the news fighting instead of determing how to agree to disagree and continue
doing the nation's business. There is no respect and love for fellow human
beings; no sense of responsibility etc etc. Yet President Museveni the self
acclaimed leader is also a self claimed True Christian. What has become of
the 10 Commandments?
I do not get! What about our children who are watching all these as the way
to treat fellow human beings. It is all about kill, kill, kill till kingdom
come.
I cry for my people! I cry for my Motherland! I cry for Uganda!
*Have a very nice weekend focussing on the positives you can find!*
Assumpta Mary Kintu

Subject: {UAH}: Minister slaps LC5 Chairman
To: [email protected]

It was in an urban setting. It was a fight between two respectable
politician not in the opposition. One of them was Urban. Would Urban and his
comrade then blame anyone for advocating for a change from the two of them
who have been serving the system under which they have now turned against
each other? Uganda needs a change from a system and from individuals
fighting personal wars but intending to drag all of us into their personal
wars.

Paul Njoki

District boss Wilberforce Yaguma. Minister Urban Tibamanya

*By chris kiwawulo and mbarara bureau*
MBARARA district chairman Wilberforce Rutashokwa Yaguma has filed an assault
case against urban development state minister Urban Tibamanya at Rubindi
Police post.

Yaguma alleged that Tibamanya found him with his supporters and slapped him.

The two NRM politicians were returning from the burial of Vincent
Karibundos daughter, Jeniva Kemirembe, in Nyamiriro, Rubindi sub-county in
Mbarara district on Wednesday, when they clashed.

Eye witnesses said Tibamanya slapped Yaguma in the face following a hot
exchange of words where the minister accused the chairman of buying beer for
his supporters at Rubindi trading centre.

Yaguma declared his intention to contest for Kashari constituency
parliamentary seat on the NRM ticket against the incumbent, Tibamanya.

The two rivals are struggling to woo supporters, which has escalated their
rivalry.

The Police in Mbarara declined to comment on the matter but a source at the
station confirmed the incident.

The source said that after the scuffle, Tibamanya rushed to Rubindi Police
post and reported a case of threatening violence against Yaguma which was
referenced as SD 20/21/7/2010.

Moments later, Yaguma also arrived to report a case of threatening violence
and assault at the same Police post. Yagumas case was referenced as SD
21/21/7/2010.

After the incident, a team of detectives rushed to Rubindi and interviewed
several eyewitnesses, the source stated. One of the statements that Police
picked from eye witnesses read:

Tibamanya found Yaguma drinking with his (Tibamanyas) supporters. The
minister joined them and wanted also to buy alcohol for them. This angered
Yaguma and a quarrel started.

Yaguma tried to hit the minister with a bottle accusing him of disorganising
his meeting. The minister held Yagumas hand and in the ensuing scuffle,
slapped him.

Quoting another eyewitness, the Police source revealed that when the
situation worsened, the ministers bodyguard, Michael Okurut, shot three
times in the air to disperse the angry supporters of Yaguma who wanted to
avenge. He (Tibamanya) took off and reported the matter to Police.

Police gave Yaguma medical forms to go for examination.

Yaguma confirmed reporting the case to Police, saying he was trying to
welcome Tibamanya at a consultative meeting but the minister instead slapped
him.

I was with my supporters and I dont know where he came from. As I stood up
to welcome him, he slapped me. In the scuffle, his body guard shot in the
air three times and the third bullet hit a wall, Yaguma narrated.

Minister Tibamanya said there was a scuffle, which he blamed on Yaguma, whom
he accused of repeatedly abusing him.

He is quoted on Radio West as having said I slapped him once. Attempts to
get more comments from Tibamanya about what transpired were futile as his
cell phone was switched off.

The Mbarara district NRM chairperson, Jomo Mugabe, condemned the fight
between the two NRM politicians, saying it was a disgrace to the party.
Mugabe said the two would face the partys disciplinary committee.
