You can slide and fall on it any time with or without the right shoes.; bare footed is even worse and be seriously hurt.break borns. Stones thorns on it can prick you. It does not talk but *it has the power over you*, whether you know it or not. So do not take it for granted be careful as you walk or run. Pay attention so you do not fall and break you legs, neck or bruise the skin etc. This is why we call the soil *"Wakitaka"* in this proverb. Usually, it should be "ettaka" By the same token do not take for granted a fellow individual who does not complain and does things right for you, but never makes noise about what they do. Appreciate them. Do not under-estimate them. Just like the English would say: "Still water is deep."
John, this is when I hate the Queen's language. Look at the number of words I had to use to give you the meaning and depth. We better not lose our African Languages, otherwise, alot of wisdom will be gone with them. We were the beginning of civilization.
