Hi Winnie, what can one say? He has always sacrificed himself maximally. The
latest from Sam +256 701117536 is that he was operated on for a flesh wound and
bone injury on the 2nd finger of the right hand. The picture you see now in New
Vision online was taken before the operation. Sam and many visitors are there
but they haven't seen him since the operation, which has been concluded. Sam
was
unable to confirm if he has regained consciousness. I'm now signing off email
but we can sms later.
regds
Conrad (P.S.: last I heard on the news: over a dozen FDC, JEEMA and DP leaders
arrested, including Anwar, Latigo, Nambooze, Lukwago, Kibirige and very many
others...)

Update: Besigye is now at Professor Kanyerezi's Kampala Hospital in Kololo,
below Acacia Avenue. I do not have details on the extent of his injury but the
initial information available was that his right hand ring finger was broken.
Not confirmed. The hospital has now reportedly been surrouned by the army. It
is
not clear whether their aim is to keep crowds at bay or to arrest him. I wonder
what will happen if he is discharged and chooses to walk home.
