Good that you are discussing - not that you are renaming. You suggested a
name for the airport, right now it is expensive to change the code: EBB, not
only to Uganda but the entire aviation industry. My thinking is that you
want to remember the bad things about Obote, not actually discussing Entebbe
International Airport, and what comes to my mind is the Luzira Prison. You
just want to remember Obote by renaming something

I am discussing Entebbe International Airport if you feel you have a name
that can be remembered by Luzira prisons kindly submit it. But I will add a
caution to you that you seem to be an intelligent man that I have stayed
with, in these forums way longer than most of what I see here. There are
way many jails in your own state that are named in remembrance to men and
women that have worked so hard for society, it is very bothering that you as
a Movementists can stand in a forum this large and paint Luzira prison in
this manner. And only God knows how I have defended the belief out there,
that you Movementists send people to Luzira to die, and here am I eating my
own very words.

I think we can painfully honor Obote by renaming Luzira Prison after him.
We can remind ourselves each time you read that someone was sent to Obote
Maximum Prison. If the purpose is is to remember Obote for bad things, then
once out of Obote Maximum Prison, one becomes a good citizen.

Ugandans
I am raising a suggestion that we change the name of Entebbe International
Airport to Apollo Milton Obote International. And I am not going to sit here
and explain all the reasons I have used to reach this decision, but when I
consider what this man did for our country, when I consider his fight to get
our country independence, his love of that country and the infrastructure
he set up for us, I think it is about time we stop to lie ourselves that we
will use names like International Airport when we are forgetting the very
people that created this country. Tonight I am going to be a very fair man
in this way, I know there are Ugandans that oppose my suggestion for they
believe that there are other Ugandan that did way greater things for Uganda
than AMO that have passed away, to those I argue you to raise up and mention
the names of who you feel did better things for Uganda than AMO. But I also
have other Ugandans that simply detest the man for one reason or another, to
those I advise, yes it is your right to despise what the man did, but
history is a vehicle and it moves at its own power not yours, so AMO is on
Uganda historical books with your support or without it. What I am
discussing today is to remember him, I am not instructing you to remember
him in a specific manner, so if your remembrance of AMO is as a tyrant
leader, I am fine with that, let us change the name of the airport so that
whenever you fly into Uganda and see his name you will remember the bad
things that you detest on him and then work on changing them.
Whether the man was bad or good we but must remember him.
