Being a Sunday I am going to do a writing as a clean house process. I fail to understand why human beings fail to use common sense. Why do adults actually behave as kids when they should know better. Every single zoo you walk into and in every country, has very specific instructions that you never ever feed the animals, what tickles adults of grown up minds to see their hands really get out of their cars to feed these animals? Those animals are sometimes on diet structured out so that they do not get fat as you in your expensive car, some eat at specific times and some eat specific food. Yes you are seeing the animals but each animal has its own story that only its trainer knows. We are having a problem in Northern Ontario with people feeding Bears, and these Bears are not tamed so they walk free but when you feed them they start to attack people in search of a nice food in cars. Drive through their territory, respect them but do not feed animals, and these signs are in every corner you pass, but in every language you so understand. Which reminds me an American woman that came to the African Lion Safari and she had a huge steak in her car. On reaching where the Lions were being kept she pulled out her steak and dangled it to the lions. Now these are very docile animals that sleep all day. So when you are driving passed them you stop take as many photograph as you want for they are sleeping all day, if you are lucky the men might raise a head and back down, you might even get the young ones walking by but in a very controlled manner for these are very strong and fast animals. There has to be a truck or two by their dean of the keepers just in case something goes aware. What you are not told is that those trucks also have guns with dotes inside. But this very rich American woman decided to stop and dangle a piece of raw steak to the giants. A female lion in a split of second yes hunter as she was created, rose up targeted the steak and scooped it off the womans hand, taking the entire hand from the shoulder and dragged it to the den for the men to feed. The woman lost so much blood and I will be very surprised if she did not die. Now we have a Giraffe in Indonesia Zoo that has died and they found a load of 20Kg of plastic in his stomach. How did he pile it all up in his stomach? For people throw food to him and that food is in plastic papers. You see when you throw that food a plastic remains and another plastic remains and another to a 20 KG weight. The animal has to die. So here is the question for you as an adult on this Gods day, what really itches you to raise your hand and feed that animal whose life history you simply do not know? Walk in and walk out leave the animal feed to those in the know and we both will be just fine. And you all know what I am talking about with those itching fingers. EM On the 49th 20 kgs of plastic in dead giraffe: Indonesian zoo http://www.ndtv.com/news/giraffe_plastic_295x200.jpg Surabaya, Indonesia: A male giraffe that died in an Indonesian zoo was found to have 20 kilograms of plastic in its stomach, officials said on Saturday, and the latest suspicious animal death at the facility. Kliwon, 30, was born at Surabaya Zoo, the biggest in the country, and was its last remaining giraffe, living alone in its pen for 13 years. It died on Thursday. "We got the autopsy results last night. They found a plastic lump weighing around 20 kilograms and 60 centimeters in diameter in his stomach," zoo spokesman Anthan Warsito told AFP. The giraffe was also found to be infected with tuberculosis. "We have a staff of around 180, and seven of them have tuberculosis, so it's possible one of them transmitted it to the giraffe. At this point we don't really know the cause of death," he said. "The plastic probably came from food wrappers the animal ingested after visitors tossed them into its pen over several years, he added". The incident comes after a spate of suspicious animal deaths at the zoo, including a critically endangered Sumatran tiger, and the disappearance of three baby Komodo dragons believed to have been stolen for the black market. Mr Warsito said that around 500 animals had died between 2010 and 2011. The zoo was criticized in 2010 when its then management attributed hundreds of animal deaths to treatable ailments, including pneumonia, diarrhoea and malnutrition. Last year, the Forestry Ministry revoked the former management's license. "We have plans to buy two or three new giraffes from America, but we have to see what management says after this incident," Mr Warsito said.
