Out of nationalism, on a date of 15 July 1987, a then patriotic Canadian kid
called John Demco a computer student at the University of British Columbia,
decided to register a domain .ca. At that time this registration did not
really matter that much to the rest of Canada, but he registered it with a
belief that at a certain point every net user in Canada must use a prefix of
.ca, and .ca must be used by all people that believe in this country. Today
25 years to the day, the domain .ca has grown out of the back yard of John
Demco where it was registered with only 8 users, to become a number 14th in
the largest 250 worldwide most used domains. Happy 25th birthday .ca
And yes we are The Canadians, we not only live up North but we created
Hockey and yes we rule.
